Shepparton District is home to approximately 70,000 people in townships across almost 3,300 square kilometres.

Connectivity within the electorate and to Melbourne and other regional centres is vital for the ongoing success of our region, as is the industry and business infrastructure in our communities.

Among many achievements in the past few years we have secured $356 million to overhaul the Shepparton Train Line to be ready for nine return VLocity services a day by 2021 and $10 million to begin planning for the Shepparton Bypass.

Work is underway on both of these projects and it was a pleasure to see a fifth return service between Shepparton and Melbourne begin this year. But there is much more we can achieve.

My infrastructure priorities for a proudly independent Shepparton District include:

  • A fully funded Shepparton Bypass to support our food-producing jobs and make our town roads safer and more attractive;
  • An ongoing commitment that our passenger and freight rail services will keep pace with our community’s needs;
  • An overhaul of bus timetables to ensure our communities are better connected to the services and lifestyle opportunities; and
  • A redeveloped sports stadium to support our strong calendar of events and keep our community active.
